THE MEANING OF THE WORD “HEART” IN THE BIBLE
In the Bible there are many references to the “heart”. This usually refers to something other than the physical organ which supplies blood to all parts of the body.

There are various meanings for example, in Psalm 73:1 “Truly God is good to Israel, to the pure of heart.” In Matthew 15:19 we read, “For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murders, adulteries, fornications, thefts, false witness, blasphemies.” Proverbs 23:7 states, “for as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”
