At age 9 Stephanie was diagnosed with macular degeneration (Stargardt’s disease), a condition which affects vision and eventually causes blindness.

She currently has only 20% vision and this is getting worse. She would like to start a family soon but she is worried that her inability to see properly will hamper her ability to care for her children in the best way possible.

A device called the Orcam MyEye 2.0 which attaches to her glasses can help her to lead a more normal life. It can ‘see’ for her by recognising people’s faces, reading for her and many other functions.
